SBParent.com was founded after having spent many hours on the phone with new parents of twins trying to connect them with some of the wonderful family resources we have in Santa Barbara. I realized during this time that there was not an easy central location to find all the information new parents need. The purpose of our site is to make life easier for parents. SBParent.com allows parents to do their research from home.
As the founder of SBParent.com, let me introduce myself. I am a Santa Barbara native. I am a mother of 11 year-old twin girls and a 7 year old girl. Prior to becoming a mother, my work experience included many years in marketing and management and a M.A. in Clinical Psychology from Pepperdine University.
What started out as a simple idea to centralize resources in a town that I love has grown into a business that combines both my work experience, my education and now my hands on experience as a mom. I am excited about the growth of ParentClick.com as we expand into cities nationwide.
I hope each of you finds this site to be helpful. Please contact me if you would like to see other information posted on the site or if information listed is no longer current. I hope to be able to keep you up to date on all that is available in our beautiful city.

Julie Sorenson l Community Editor Julie joined the team in 2004. She has brought so much to the site because of her love for the community and her passion for helping others. Julie has lived in Santa Barbara for 15 years. Julie was raised up the coast in San Luis Obispo and graduated from Cal Poly. She has a Bachelor's degree in Human Development/Family Studies with a minor in Psych. Her work experience began with direct care and management in group homes. Prior to her work with sbparent.com, she worked at Devereux for 10 years, working primarily as a medical case manager. Once logged on to sbparent.com, she knew this site was a great resource for families and wanted to help with its mission of bringing together local resources and families. Her daughters are ages 11 and 8. |

Irene Milton l Community Editor Irene joined our team in 2007. Irene grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area, moved to Goleta to attend UCSB in 1994, and STAYED. She now has a B.S. in Biology, a husband, 8 year old twin sons, and a job at SBParent.com! When she's not volunteering at Ellwood school, scrapbooking, reading, or knitting, she's posting the events, classified ads, local perks, etc. on her favorite website. |
