Isla Vista Recreation & Park District has 25 beautiful parks. There are also great afterschool programs, sports, teen center and more. Parks include: Anisq'Oyo' Park, Tierra de Fortuna, Sueño Park, Trigo-Pasado Park, Greek Park, Blufftop Parks, Pelican Park, Camino Pescadero Park, and Window to the Sea. Natural Open Spaces owned by the Park District include Del Sol Open Space and Camino Corto Open Space. Frisbee Golf Course-9 hole course. We always welcome volunteers for the After-School Program and the Adopt-A-Block Program. Call to reserve a park for your event, or to volunteer.

Carpinteria

Rincon Beach is know world wide for its surfing.

El Carro Park, Monte Vista Park & Memorial Park have playground facilities.

Tar Pits Park and explore the walking trails, numerous birds, vegetation, spectacular views. You may get a chance to see seals and dolphins in the water.

The Salt Marsh, also known as El Estuaro, is one of the most important wetlands in Southern California. Home to rare and endangered plants and birds and a haven for migrating birds. Located on Ash Ave.

The Carpinteria Bluffs offer you another opportunity to see amazing birds, great views and more.

Toro Canyon Park

Santa Barbara

Alice Keck Park

The park features a large botanical collection (75 different tree and plant species); koi pond; sensory garden with audio posts and interpretive Braille signs; low water-using demonstration garden; picnic areas; gazebo.

Andree Clark Bird Refuge
1400 East Cabrillo Blvd.
A brackish wetland provides a safe haven for a diverse bird population including ducks and geese. Fun bird watching and a good starting point to bike ride with kids.

Chase Palm Park

This park is located across from the Beach. There is a great play structure, grassy area and a carousel. There are restrooms. They have great outdoor concerts in the summer.

Douglas Family Preserve
end of Medcliff Road & Selrose Lane
A 70-acre open space area donated to the city that sits above Arroyo Burro Beach. Trails and views. Dogs allowed off leash.

East Beach Park

This park is located at East Beach. There are 2 playgrounds, a grill and restrooms.

Elings Park Foundation

Elings Park is the largest not-for-profit park in Santa Barbara. Elings is the home of Camp Las Positas which offers camp experiences in soccer, softball, baseball, theatre(with Boxtales and the Shakespeare SB Co.), nature camp and activity camp. 2005 dates run from June 20-Aug. 26th. We are also home to SB BMX, two sites for weddings and memorials, 3 softball fields and so much more. Movie nights and Family Overnight Camping offered in the Summer.

Escondido Park

This park is on the Mesa with a playground, grassy area, a half size basketball court and street parking. There are no restrooms.

Hidden Valley Park

Lawn, barbeque facilities and children's play area, plus over 15 acres of creekside foliage and wildlife accessed by a walking path. Great toddler playground.

Hilda Ray Park

This park is located on the Mesa. There is a playground and grassy area. There are no restrooms.

Kids World / Alameda Park
Reservable children's party and picnic sites.

La Mesa Park
295 Meigs Rd.
This is a great park on the Mesa with an ocean view. There is a large play structure, sandbox area, ans a big grassy play and picnic area. There is off street parking, restrooms, picnic tables and BBQs. You can even pick up a picnic lunch at Lazy Acres.

MacKenzie Park
State St. & Las Positas
This park is in the San Roque area with a playground, baseball fields, large grassy area, restrooms, picnic tables and BBQs.

Oak Park

Westside park and offers 2 playgrounds, a large grassy area, tennis courts and restrooms.Free swimming in an 18-inch deep wading pool for kids 0-7 years is open May-September with an on-duty lifeguard. (see calendar for hours) Note: Pool is Closed for Summer 2009.

Rocky Nook Park

Shoreline Park

One of Santa Barbara's most popular parks, situated on the bluffs overlooking the beach and harbor. Features include a playground, large grassy areas, walking paths, views of the Channel Islands and whale watching, a sister city Japanese garden and a stairway to the beach. Reservable picnic and barbecue areas.

Skaters Point Skate Park
Cabrillo Blvd./Garden St.
Skate park for kids of all ages. Ramps, rails & bowls. Early weekends mornings are reserved for young children. Helmets & gear required. Entry is free. Open 8am-half hour past sunset. 14,600 sq. feet.

Stevens Park

This park is in the San Roque area with 25 acres. It has a playground, picnic tables, BBQs, a creek and hiking trails. There is off street parking and rest rooms. Great for all ages.

Sunflower Park

This is a neighborhood park on the Eastside with a playground.

Tuckers Grove Park

This park is off of Turnpike. There is a playground, ball fields, BBQs, picnic tables, bike trails, picnic areas, hiking trails, horseshoes, volleyball, and restrooms.

West Beach Park

This park is between the pier and the harbor. There is a wading pool, a playground, a grassy area and restrooms. Wading pool for kids 0-7 years is open in Summer with an on-duty lifeguard. (2009 Hours: Mon-Sat from 12 noon to 4pm (no Sundays) from July 1-Aug 22.

Willowglen Park

This is a neighborhood parkin the San Roque area with a playground, soccer/baseball field and street parking. The play structure is especially great for children that have just started walking. There are no restrooms.

Coronado Butterfly Preserve

One of the largest Monarch butterfly over-wintering groves in California. (bbutterfly season: approximately November - February). It is protected open space and acts as a gateway to existing and future protected coastal resource areas nearby, via trails linking the Ellwood Main Monarch Grove, Ellwood Shores coastal bluffs, Santa Barbara Shores County Park, the Devereux Slough and the beach.

Girsh Park

Girsh Park is an active recreational park on 25 acres in the heart of Goleta, California. It features a soccer field, a softball field, two basketball courts, one varsity baseball diamond, three little league baseball diamonds, a community meeting room, a group picnic area, a children's play area, five individual family picnic areas, and a wetlands/natural area.

Goleta Beach Park

This beach park is off of hwy 217 near the SB Airport. There is a playground, BBQs, picnic tables, bike trails, picnic areas, horseshoes, restaurant, restrooms, swimming, and volleyball.

Lake Los Carneros Park
Lake Los Carneros Park has been designated a Natural, Historical and Cultural Preserve. The lake covers about 5 acres of the property. There are several walking paths through the park and the Historical Stow House and Goleta Railroad Depot are situated on the grounds. BBQ Grills, Benches or Picnic Tables, Bike Trails, Bird Watching, Equestrian Trails, Group Picnic Areas, Hiking Trails, Restrooms.

Santa Barbara Shores Park

A natural area, this park is still under development. Presently there exist hiking trails over coastal bluffs and through thick eucalyptus groves. The park features bike trails, birdwatching, hiking trails. Santa Barbara Shores County Park is currently 118 acres of undeveloped open space located on the west side of Goleta and south of Hollister Avenue. It is bordered on the west by Sandpiper Golf Course. Park hours are from 8:00 am to Sunset.Sea Lookout Park
Sea Lookout Park on the bluffs in Isla Vista offers a grassy area for sports on the bluff and three raised wooden platforms for lounging, reading or enjoying the view.

Anisq'Oyo' Park

the District's largest park with 3.17 acres. The park has a rustic windmill, a large pond, an amphitheater, children's playground equipment, picnic benches and restrooms. The freshwater pond provides habitat for ducks, egrets, herons, frogs, turtles, fish and other wildlife. It is the ideal place for large public functions.

Greek Park

Greek Park contains an asphalt basketball court, a volleyball pit and a wooden deck/stage.

Tierra de Fortuna

""Dinosaur Park"" is located at the far west end of Isla Vista, and features a beautiful view of mountains and trees, a vine-covered gazebo, and a picnic table. Play options include swings, a slide, a sand pit with digger, a whirl (merry-go-round), a springy seesaw, and a large dinosaur to climb on. Ideal for toddlers.

Trigo-Pasado Park
