Aardvark Dance for Kids / Movement Arts is a comprehensive educational program for children, teens and adults affiliated with the Motion Theatre Dance Company.
All classes focus on creativity, technique, strength, flexibility, musicality and theatrical expression. Aadvark Dance for Kids offers MaMa Mia, Creative Movement, Ballet, Modern, Jazz, & Tap classes for children 2 and UP. Classes are held in a beautiful studio near a peaceful garden setting. As a non-profit organization we are dedicated to providing the local and surrounding communities youth and professional dance instruction and performance opportunities. Your child will learn how to twirl and have the opportunity to perform in parades, exhibitions and other performances! Your child will be invited to perform at different events such as a half-time show for the LA Clippers and at the Disneyland resort.
Your child will also learn hand-eye coordination, marching and dancing related to baton twirling, encouraged to be more outgoing.
Kids soccer program. Everyone plays, balanced teams, good sportsmanship, positive coaching, and open registration. The season runs from August-November.
Beach Stars Gymnastics is a recreational gymnastics club that teaches technical gymnastics in a creative and fun way. There is no other gym like it! When you walk in you are greeted with a 62 foot ocean mural behind a large boat which houses a trampoline, foam pit, bungee harness and a rock climbing wall! Boys & girls are given instruction on bars, balance beams, trampolines, tumbling, trapeze and rings each week! Cheerleading class offered. This is a very special place where only 10-12 kids are in the "beach gym" at a time.

Cathedral Oaks Athletic Club is a great family club with tennis, swimming, fitness classes, child care and special events for children. Weekly classes for children include: ballet, martial arts and mini-muscles.
Private and Semi-private Swim Lessons: Non-members: Privates-$40 Semi-Privates (2 students)-$25 each person. Our private and semi-private swim lessons are offered to children and adults. Each swim lesson is 30 minutes long and is scheduled individually and tailored to each swimmer’s ability level.
Swim team is offered to children between the ages of 5-15 years of age. Junior membership is required to participate on the swim teams. We offer three different levels of swim teams for children between the ages of 5-15. Before starting, all children who are interested must be evaluated by Coach Mike Lewis to place them in the appropriate group.
Pre Swim team prepares ages 5-7 for the Novice Team. They focus primarily on freestyle and backstroke and receive an introduction to butterfly and breaststroke. This team meets T/TH from 4:00pm-4:30pm. Novice team is for ages 6-12. This group concentrates on the fundamentals of all 4 competitive strokes and works on endurance to prepare them for the Age Group team. Novice practices on Tues, Wed, TH 3:30pm-4:15pm. Age Group team is for ages 8-15. Swimmers at this level will gain greater endurance, and a better understanding of competition. Practice times are Monday/Wednesday 4:00pm-5:30pm and T/TH 4:00pm-5:15pm.

The City of Carpinteria offers many aquatic programs at the Community Swimming Pool and the City Beach. Pool programs include swim lessons, age group swim team, lap swimming, aqua aerobics, Masters swimming.
Swim lessons are taught by certified lifeguards and swim instructors according to American Red Cross guidelines and are offered to all ages. Our Carpinteria Koi age group swim team is a wonderful way to keep your kids swimming all year long.

Santa Barbara Seals Surf School hopes to share the stoke of surfing with you today. Learn the etiquette, water safety, and technique of surfing with accredited surf instructors. We offer surf lessons, after school programs, and season surf camps.
CAMPS
For our younger students (8+ years) we have camps that present surfing as a lifestyle, covering water safety, ocean science, environmental awareness surf, etiquette and cultural heritage. These camps run during the summer months from June to August. Our beginner course is handled by the Santa Barbara Surf Adventures. This camp is stationed at Leadbetter Beach.
For older/more advanced students, we offer a weekly travel camp. We meet Monday through Friday from 9am-3pm. Pickup and drop off at The Beach House in SB. We will be traveling to Santa Barbara/Ventura County searching for the best surf and wave conditions each day.
Santa Barbara Soccer club is the premier youth soccer organization on the central coast. 30 Boys and girls U9-U19 teams compete at the highest levels of the game including the Coast Soccer League of Southern California. One of the best youth soccer leagues in the world. Our teams also compete annually in the prestigious US Youth Soccer National and State Cups having won 3 State Cups in the past 2 years.
U8 Program(open enrollment) runs from September to May on Friday afternoons focusing on individualized development of control of the body and control of the ball.
Santa Barbara SC is for the competitive and/or passionate soccer players who desire to play at the highest level possible. Support program/college liaison for high school players who are applying to college.

The Santa Barbara Swim Club is recognized by USA Swimming as one of the top Swim Teams in the Nation. From fitness swimming, pre-competitive, High School and all the way to the Olympic Games: SBSC has a place for your child. Our professional, certified coaching staff is lead by 2008 USA Olympic Coach John Dussliere. Swimmers graduating from our team are currently swimming in college for Stanford, USC, Georgetown, Fresno State, Columbia, and Tufts, just to name a few. SBSC is a year-round swim team for kids 6-17 and offers training Monday-Saturday and competitions about once per month. SBSC has financial assistance available. The team utilizes locations at Los Banos Del Mar pool and UCSB Rec Center pool. Call the swim office anytime to schedule free skill assessment.

Registration begins in May thru mid-June, no late sign ups, check back in April for specific dates/times. Age/weight requirements. Some scholarships available, full and partial, upon request/qualification.
First parent meeting takes place in the end of July. Practices begin first Monday in August thru mid-December for playoffs/Superbowl. Games played on Saturdays, locally and from El Rio to Nipomo.
Introductory level youth girl's lacrosse in an After School Program format. Two days a week girls will come outside when class is over at their school and receive 90 minutes of fun lacrosse instruction from college players. The registration fee of $195 will include all equipment and practice gear. Scholarships will be available to families unable to afford the full registration fee.
The Santa Barbara Youth Sailing Foundation is a non-profit corporation whose sole purpose is to develop in young people, through the sport of sailing, attributes of self-reliance, responsibility, teamwork and sportsmanship, together with a constant awareness of the requirements of safety.
In the summer, the Foundation sponsors a 10-week sailing program which is open to children between 8 and 17 years of age. Instruction is provided in beginning, intermediate and advanced levels, using several different types of one-design performance dinghies, including the US Sabot, Optis, Laser, Laser Radial, CFJ, and 420.

Special Olympic serves 300 children, teens and adults with intellectual disabilities in the Santa Barbara area. We also offer "School Games" for youth ages 8-18 in the Carpinteria Unified Schools, Hope District Schools, Goleta District Schools, Santa Ynez District Schools, and Ojai District schools.
We provide year-round sports training and competition in ten sports including: aquatics, athletics (track and field) basketball, bowling, bocce, floor hockey, gymnastics, soccer, softball and tennis.
We are currently partnering with AYSO to offer the VIP soccer program.
Special Olympics provides a wonderful opportunity for children with intellectual disabilities including autism to participate in sports and competition giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes and the community.

All students learn about the history of the sport of surfing, the fundamentals of water safety such as how to read the wind, waves, tides, and currents (WWTC), and about the four primary surfing spots found. In addition, we focus upon teaching correct surfing etiquette while introducing the turtle philosophy.

With over 12 years of instructing experience, Sarah Fretwell will help you introduce your infant/toddler to the water or take your child from pre-swimming to water safe. Sarah works with children/adults to increase body awareness in the water, working with techniques that easily train muscle memory, and as a result, building proper/effective swimming technique for life. For your convenience, lessons are taught year-round in your home pool or in a private, heated pool. Rates are $38 per 1/2 hour. All ages ocean swimming/ safety skills also available.
